Silicate mineral which occurs in association with Tinaksite and Canasite. The stone was named after the Chara River and is often called Lilac stone due to its color range from lavender to violet. Charoite is found in only one place in the world, Russia’s Sakha Republic. It is relatively a new stone, first discovered in 1978.
